Sad, sad news for Red Sox Nation today. Former Sox closer Ugueth Urbina was sentanced to 14 years in prision for attacking some housecleaners with machettes and then pouring gasoline on them because they took a dip in his pool. Uggie’s former attorney belives “The ruling was too severe.” Where’s Johnnie Cochrane when you need him? (Don’t answer that question.)

I guess Manny didn’t want to be upstaged by Curt’s blog, so he decided to start using this “internet” thing as well. Hooray eBay!

A tie. What a great way to start off the (spring training) season. If I wanted to watch a tie I’d replay the 2003 all-star game, or just turn on a hockey game. Aside from the fact that today’s game was like kissing my sister, here are some thoughts:
- WRKO (the new flagship station of the Sox) should not be so desperate for advertisements that they sell radio space for a “natural male enhancement.” I get enough of that spam, I don’t need to hear about it during Sox games.
- I was pleasantly surprised with Glenn Geffner’s work on the air. Not the most exciting broadcast, but I could definitely understand what was going on. And his home run call doesn’t sound exactly like his shallow-fly ball out call. What a treat!
- It’s only one game, but Jacoby Ellsbury sounds damn impressive.
- By the same respect, Julian Tavarez sounds damn unimpressive.
- Alex Ochoa has a GUN. I hope his locker is next to Coco’s so something may rub off.
Tie or not, it’s good to have something to look forward to at 4pm.
