The Four Questions (plus 11 for good luck)

With the beginning of the baseball season right around the corner (as in the Sox first pitch is in 3 hours so I better get this out NOW), I thought it would be fun to do a quick rundown of the biggest questions entering the season on a player-by-player basis.

Curt: How long until he says something ridiculously stupid on his blog and tears apart the clubhouse? He likes to say that the blog will prevent him from being misquoted/misinterpreted. Maybe that’s a bad thing and not a good thing.

Beckett: Has he realized yet that you can’t win games in the AL East by throwing your four-seam fastball again, and again, and again?

Matisyahu: Will he adjust to MLB umpires?

Wakefield: No questions, the guy’s a rock.

Papelbon: Can he go a full season as a closer without getting hurt?

Timlin: What’s the over/under on games not on the DL this season? I’ll set the bar at 50.

Tavarez: Who’s the first batter he intentionally beans in the AL East? (Hint: His nickname rhymes with A-Fraud.)

Lugo: What number will be larger: Lugo’s HR total, or A-Gon’s errors?

Youks: Will the fact that the first night of Passover conincides with opening day affect his performance for the first 8 games of the season? (I’d say no, but if he gets off to a slow start let’s go with that.)

Papi: Can my man-crush get any larger?

Manny: Anyone wanna buy a grill?

Tek: Can he stop being a black hole in the lineup?

JD Drew: See Timlin, Mike.

Coco: Was the problem with him last year really his finger, or is he just not the right person for this lineup. (Extra credit: Will we see Jacoby Ellsbury before September?)

Pedroia: When I ran into Pedroia in Oakland last year, the guy looked wide-eyed and just excited to be in the big leagues (that’s not a dig, I looked that way and I wasn’t being paid to be there). Is he going to get over that and start hitting?
